Paris, February 27th, 2025: World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi joins Roundtable as one of 15 new investment community leaders, marking a significant evolution in private market investing. After successfully launching his Origins venture capital fund in 2022 and investing in 20+ breakthrough tech startups, Blaise invites his community to invest alongside him in the Origins investment club. Through his Origins investment club, Matuidi will target technology companies that change the way consumers live, work, and play. The investment club will be managed by Salomon Aiach, Blaise co-founder on Origins fund. Salomon is an ex-Goldman Sachs and ex-Facebook who was also named VC rising star by Business Insider. They will leverage their unique insights and network to democratize access to premium investment opportunities.
This expansion reflects two powerful market forces reshaping private market investing. On the founder side, companies increasingly seek investors who bring operational expertise and industry networks alongside capital, recognizing that success requires more than just funding. For investors, specialized communities provide the expertise and collective resources needed to access and evaluate the best opportunities.
"Investment clubs are emerging as a powerful force in democratizing private market access," says Evan Testa, co-founder and CEO of Roundtable. "This new batch particularly demonstrates how specialized expertise, from laboratory innovations to professional sports, is being channeled to open previously restricted investment opportunities.”
The success of private investment clubs on Roundtable's platform has led to growing demand for public access to these investment opportunities. Selected communities are now opening their doors to qualified investors, enabling them to benefit from collective expertise, shared networks, and increased investment capacity.
These public investment clubs represent some of the platform's most successful groups, each having demonstrated strong track records and completed multiple deals.
Investors can apply to join multiple investment clubs based on their interests, geographic focus, and experience. Community leaders review applications to ensure alignment with their investment thesis and community requirements. Accepted members gain access to regular deal flow, participate in larger collective investments, and join specialized networking opportunities.
This new batch of investment clubs demonstrates several key trends in European private market investing:
